1st project in 15 years
After a nearly 15 year crochet hiatus, I've decided to pick up the hobby again. I love to crochet. It's relaxing, fun and imaginative. You can make anything from clothes, scarves and hats, to dolls, stuffed animals, blankets, etc. Just about anything you can think up, you can make into a crochet project. I picked something simple to start with. I figured the easier the project the faster I would get back into the groove of reading a pattern and remembering the stitches. I'm embarrassed to admit that I had to watch a tutorial on youtube for this project! This tutorial can be found here. I found after starting that I had forgotten some of the stitches, but I made it through. When I began the scarf, I had the intentions of it fitting an adult and maybe I would use it this winter. After getting through a few rows I realized it was going to be much to skinny for my taste. So I improvised and made it into a scarf for my 4 year old niece. She loves it by the way! Here is my 1st finished project! With many more to come!
For this project I used Lion Brand Yarn in "Washington Denim" color.
I used a size J (or 6) hook.
